Meet Nate Frederiksen
"I live in a constant state of discovery, and I can’t help myself but to pursue the challenges within a field that was most natural for me to do so in. Every sound unsung, any instrumental combination that eludes the current repertoire, and any way I can carve a path for my sound in a direction unexplored is an opportunity I’ll take without a second thought."

Nate Frederiksen is a Boulder-based composer, arranger, producer, and performer whose proficiency in playing a multitude of instruments and styles from around the world has grown his sound into a dominant and radiant mosaic of influences that transcend the bounds of genre and limitation. His works cast a wide net, from orchestral compositions to top-notch modern productions, even to complex implementations for music in games and film. His mother tongue is piano, but over the years and through his performances with School Of Rock and his studies with esteemed musicians like Peter Stoltzman, Beth Bahia Cohen, Joanne Brackeen, and Max ZT, his instrumental discipline ranges anywhere from guitar and bass to hammered dulcimer and oboe and everything in between. He is now a student at Berklee College of Music, where he continues to push the envelope in any branch of knowledge he can seamlessly blend his visual and aural aesthetic into; he even makes yoyos! (infernoyoyos.com)
His performative career so far has seen him playing at venues like Boulder Theater, First Bank Center, the Berklee Performance Center, and even twice at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. He continues to find different facets of his sound through learning new instruments, just as one finds different facets of oneself through learning new languages. His debut orchestral piece, Snow On Cinder, being performed in May 2025 at the Berklee Performance Center, is one of many in a portfolio that shows a growing mastery in his sound, no matter what form it may take.
